Mohamed Elmasry and Naomi Klein

In his letter to the editor in the Globe and Mail on Oct. 5, Mohamed Elmasry, president of the Canadian Islamic Congress, points out that he is not against Jews, because, although he objected to Jonathan Schneiderman and Leo Kolber being appointed to important government jobs, it was because they are pro-Israel and not because they are Jews.

To support this argument, he says that he would have approved of the appointment of Naomi Klein.

The point he unconsciously makes is how damaging ‘liberal’ Jews can be to Israel. I am tired of ‘liberal’ Jews supporting the anti-Israel agenda. Although Jews like Naomi Klein are used by the Palestinians and their supporters to support the war against Israel, the Jewish community says nothing. Why not?

If the Jewish community doesn’t criticize her, why shouldn’t Islamists and Palestinian supporters use her?

Isn’t it time for the Jewish community to excommunicate her or at least have her cease to be a member of the Jewish community in good standing? I am sure she will continue to harm Jewish interests, but at least it wouldn’t be done as a respected member of the Jewish community.
