Sick Kids fundraiser still sweet
October 29, 2012 | Jewish Tribune
TORONTO – Zachary Winkler, 11, and his sister Maya, 8, will hold their 6th annual ‘Do Something Sweet’ fundraiser for the Hospital for Sick Children on Sun., Nov. 4.
From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the driveway of 81 Ramblewood Lane in Thornhill, visitors can help raise money for Sick Kids Hospital while they enjoy inflatable games, balloon animals, face painting and a silent auction featuring items such as sports memorabilia and tickets to events. Zachary and Maya will hand out their traditional homemade cotton candy and Magen Boys Entertainment will be the DJs.
People who donate $20 or more will receive a tax receipt and a Do Something Sweet t-shirt. Donations may also be made online at http://my.sickkidsdonations.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=1677516.
More than $9,000 was donated during last year’s fundraising drive, which brought their five-year total to almost $20,000.
