THORNHILL – The success of Chabad Youth Network (CYN) will be celebrated this month at a gala event in recognition of the organization’s rising young leaders and benefactors.

“In addition to paying tribute to the exceptional young people who come through our doors, the purpose of the evening is to raise the vital funds needed to maintain the continuity and the qualitative edge of social and educational programming that CYN provides,” said Rabbi Shmuli Nachlas, CYN director.

From counselling youth in distress to providing a nurturing yet trendy hangout for teenagers, the CYN has made a difference to hundreds of teens across the GTA since it began in May 2008.

The gala will feature gourmet cocktails, wine tasting, a lavish dinner, entertainment, a silent auction and an awards ceremony.

Created with the goal of instilling a strong sense of identity in today’s Jewish teens, CYN offers youth an opportunity to re-connect with the timeless traditions of their heritage, no matter what their background or affiliation. The network also encourages proactive community involvement.

Unaffiliated with any synagogue or particular community, CYN’s funds are raised solely from the charitable giving of individuals, organizations and corporations.

The event takes place Nov. 24, at Terrace Banquet Hall in Vaughan. Cocktails are at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7, and the program at 7:30.
