(JTA) – The number of antisemitic incidents in Holland in January was nearly equal to the number of attacks in all of 2008, a new report shows. The annual report of the national organization charged with monitoring antisemitism in the country, the Center for Information and Documentation, reported 98 attacks in January. There were 108 attacks in all of 2008. Antisemitic manifestations rose around the world in January during Israel’s military offensive in Gaza. The antisemitism watchdog group criticized Holland’s justice system and police for being reluctant to process claims of antisemitism and also called on the legal system  not to decriminalize Holocaust denial.
