Re: The St. Louis Era: Looking Back, Moving Forward (Jewish Tribune, June 11, 2009) I’d like to acknowledge and thank both B’nai Brith Canada and the government of Canada for co-sponsoring a terrific conference in an effort to combat racism and effectively deliver anti-Holocaust education programming.
It was a privilege to be in the presence of survivors from the St. Louis who are a shining light to all who in any way question the facts of history.
The conference produced informative sessions and it elicited spirited debate on some of the issues we face in our 21st century global village. To those persons that I met, it was great to spend a couple of days with you discussing these critical issues.
I hope that this international Holocaust task force, which has received funding for the next three years, is allowed to flourish and produce results as we all work towards creating a better world.
